Opposing forces are set to collide in Gurren Lagann director Hiroyuki Imaishi and writer Kazuki Nakashima's Kill La Kill, an upcoming anime driven by character dynamics and explosive battles between fiery rebel schoolgirl Ryuuko and commanding Satsuki. The two are respectively described by the themes “UNIFORM X REVENGE” and “UNIFORM X DOMINATION.”
Similarly, the anime is being famed as a dialectic between its creators. Newtype quotes Imaishi saying "ever since Gurren Lagann, Nakajima balances out my irresponsible and childish impulses with adult rationale and reason, while keeping things fun. Not only that, that "'fun' approach fits me very well. So the work is made really easy. I'd like to work with Nakajima loads more in the future, if he doesn't mind."
Nakajima, a playright and novelist in addition to being an anime writer, says "in terms of Trigger, Kill La Kill is a work that'd express both the spirit of Inferno Cop and the imagination behind Little Witch Academia."
Speaking up for the new studio, Imaishi interjected "The spirit of Inferno Cop? Umm … it'd be better not to create misunderstandings (lel). Well, let's go with the FULL MIGHT OF TRIGGER."
